Have a 2021 F-150 and had a rental Ram a while back.
The Ram powertrain is amazing from a low end torque and transmission perspective. Options and build quality wise though, it was garbage. Already had cracked plastics and rattles everywhere, fuel economy was atrocious (14/19 city/hwy) compared to my Ford, infotainment was meh, and the shape of the hood blocked so much of the view towards the front.
So on the flip side, 25% tow 2+ times a year, 30% offroad 2+ times a year, and 65% use the bed 2+ times a year.
Since none of those use cases are mutually inclusive or exclusive, somewhere between 65% and 100% of truck owners use their trucks for various “truck stuff” at least twice a year.
Minivans are damn near the size of half ton trucks…
They’re an inch narrower and 6 inches shorter is all, while weighing damn near as much as your average F-150. Only real advantage is a truck is 2’ longer.
Because they have to withstand 10+ years of being outdoors constantly in every condition from freezing winters at -40F all the way to blistering summer heat at 120F, along with driving rain and wind, to ice and snow.
Your iPhone camera would be toast in a week.
It’s daytime running lights without automatic headlights equipped (or at least turned on).
100% not a manufacturer issue, it’s completely a dumbass driver issue.
