I’m sure the interior is far improved over the outgoing model, but I just don’t like it… it screams “mountain dew EXTREME!” It’s like the designers must chugged a bunch of red bull and made everything as angular and loud as possible.

It screams that because that’s the image the target market wants to portray. Most Tacos are total pavement-princesses, ironically owned by the kind of people who love to decry full size pavement-princesses on this very sub. They aren’t going deep back country - no 5g there and caffeinated milkshake driver-thrus for them. They’re mostly bought by people who want to look like modern weekend-warrior adventure types despite them not actually being even close to that.

dont forget being petrified if there is a breakdown hence why they spend $60k on a 15 year old design vehicle.

I saw this comment before but it’s the best description I’ve seen yet: from the factory, it looks like someone ordered a bunch of offroad aesthetics from Wish.

Give it a couple years and it will look tame. It’s just new and scary. But the whole video is about not being scared. So try it?

This is basically every truck right now. Massive square hoods and boxy styling. Most of these trucks are not intended to carry or haul loads of gear or resources. They are intended to carry frail egos.
