He already has one. However, since they can share a breaker, if he decides to buy a new one, definitely get the Universal one.

Same here and when our daughter bought hers, the rep spent 30 minutes to explain to her how the different features of the car work and set up her account, etc. No time was spent with him trying to sell her aftermarket services.
A lengthy post on Twitter (I refuse to call it X, especially since it’s still twitter.com ffs), mentions

It is Tesla’s legal right not to enter into a collective agreement
Is that true? Can they sue other companies/agencies for not providing services, like those responsible for manning the shipping docks?
If people behave like adults and don’t mind moving their car (as long as they are inside of course and not eating or shopping somewhere), the best case scenario is only one bay is left empty, no matter the numbers of stalls there. By stacking from the end towards the middle with the right side port cars on one side and the left side car on the other, would leave just an empty bay somewhere in the middle. But, I doubt it will be that easy, hence why I might limit myself to V2 at first, as long as it’s less than 50% busy there.
I hope so for those already using busy Superchargers. Personally, those that I’m using aren’t that busy, if at all. Often, even in the middle of the day, I’m alone charging. It happened twice two weekends ago at two different eight stalls V3 Superchargers. I was the only one charging for the whole 15 minutes we were there. If it does become s shit show though, I’ll route to V2 Superchargers (still lots of them on my routes) which won’t be opened to other vehicles (lacking CCS protocol) until things calm down.
And all of that planning will probably be fucked up when other brand of cars will simply drop by to charge.
Because with the distance we’re driving per year (30,000 km), the price of electricity here (6 to 9¢ per kWh) and price of gas (currently at $1.5/L but fluctuates greatly), over half of the monthly payment is saved right there.
Diesel is more expensive than gas, although less refined. Why’s that?
The same will happen with gas as its demand dwindles.
And keep in mind that when the battery is cold, some of that energy has to go towards heating the battery. Your charge time will therefore take longer. At 240V/40A, that won’t affect much, but at 120V/15A, you’ll see the difference.
Yeah, I’m in that above 50% half.
I have a few bucks sitting in many apps account. I wish this trend would come to an end.
Ok, where did I leave my popcorn?
Musk only owns 13% of Tesla, and that was before that Twitter fiasco. There are thousands of employees that work there, not just one individual. I couldn’t care less about him. It’s what the Tesla brand stands for that interests me. If it wasn’t for Tesla, there wouldn’t be a big push to EV like we’re seeing now. Push that is dragged down by big manufacturers doing what they can to slow it down. Do I wish Musk stepped down for CEO? yes, but it won’t change my mind about the company.
Beside what others have said about the longevity of the battery outlasting the car itself,
We could be facing a future where the cheap car in cash is over and everyone has to make car payments.
But also a future where cars do not excessively pollute because of failed emissions control engine components that is often the case with old engines.
Both retired and bring $14k Canadian monthly. Have a 2021 Model 3 and a 2017 Prius Prime.
So you’re asking how can the sitter use your charger to charge your Ioniq5? What am I missing here?
Some cheap receptacles have their metal contacts going only half height of their slot. If you put a new one, make sure those contacts go full height, just like the pins on your charger plug. Also, make sure the electrician torques the screws to the correct settings. My Tesla Wall Charges states to torque the screws to 5.6 NM, which is tighter than hand tight with a screw driver.
Yeah, I didn’t want to push it further with them so I tried on my own and had some success but it was flaky, so I dropped that idea.
On my last round trip to Toronto, there were just three of us at the Belleville 20 V2 Superchargers and coming back, I was alone at the Madoc and Perth Superchargers for the 15 minutes I was there. No issue here either.
