How do you get the last funds in a charging account off? I basically never road trip, and recently was able to use up the last 5 bucks sitting in my EA account for a year. Only to find that it auto loaded another $10. Maybe it’ll be another couple of years before I can use that up. It won’t even let me cancel the credit card. I suppose I’ll have to insert a fake gift card and use that as the default so it won’t load. Why does using a charging account feel like canceling a gym membership?

That’s annoying, most apps let you remove a card. Can you cancel your membership plan? Maybe that would then let you remove the card.

Maybe google for fake visa generator and put in a fake number

just give them a call, they should be able to help you close the account and get your remaining funds refunded.

If you wish to get the remaining funds from your electrify America account, call and close the account it will take 5 minutes and will be refunded to the payment method on file (make sure it’s valid) within about 5-7 business days. Used to work there and would get this question a lot.

I recently discovered similar in my ChargePoint account that’s been dormant since 2017. Except, they now offer a Pay As You Go option. I plan to just draw it down to a few cents, then don’t touch it. My credit card on file will expire without me updating the info.

This is one of the many terrible things EV charging companies do to us that gas companies don’t. I have probably $150 sitting in all of the nonsense accounts I have been forced to create over the years.
