I very nearly bought a 2004 tt s Quattro earlier this year. Wish I did.

Iirc, grind hard plumbing co shows you a lot. They don’t really do cars, more just cool shit, but it’s the same genre of stuff I guess.
I love Toyotas 3ur-fe 5.7l v8 and the 5vz-fe 3.4l v6. The most reliable, issue free, low maintenance workhorses I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. Supercharged 3ur is a monster as well.
I have a soft spot for ej’s. Yeah they’ve got a reputation, but treat them right from new and they’ll treat you right. Have a low mile ej-257 in my forester with a bunch of go fast parts and it’s extremely reliable. Tune it right, regular oil changes and don’t go overboard and it’s perfectly reliable.
Of course, my favourite of all time is the jaguar xke. Work of art. I hate mine, but also love it so much. So tricky to get right but when it is right, oooooh man.
I just want something super, super simple, super high quality, cheap and easy to work on. Old toyota pickups are peak truck.
