If a 3 series is what you can afford to buy then a M340i would be my pick to test drive. Good bang for buck, but why rent one when you could just test drive one for free?

So the procedure is that they should have booked you in to inspect the egr. Not all cars are affected as some have a different egr but at the very least they should be checking to make sure it isn’t affected. Some cars have a small wait time where I am as some egr’s are on back order due to the sheer number of them we are replacing and they take about 4 weeks, However a lot of cars are getting done on the day they come in. Some also need the intake manifold and acoustics cover replaced at the same time. It takes a couple of minutes to check and I’m not sure why they are stating it doesn’t need to be checked or replaced as you can’t tell that unless you physically check the egr and it’s part number against the recall list. Some have the newer corrins egr already installed.

M cars don’t come with run flats, they also don’t come with a spare. You should have a mobility kit in the boot, which should have come with the car. Flick the switch one way and it’s a compressor, flick it the other way and it’s seals the tire and inflates it.

People hated the beaver grill on the g80’s so I have no idea how anyone can like the m2. They went the complete opposite and made the most ugly square looking front bar they could. The g80’s have grown on me now (I work at bmw so see them every day) but I’ll never ever like the m2. It’s confusing to look at.
