I love the way BMWs look but I’m a non-BMW peasant and I was thinking of renting one for a day to see what it’s like

I want to experience the power, luxury and handling of a Beamer

But which BMW would you want to rent? Probably a 3 series. A 5 series would be too expensive so I feel it would be best to stick with a 3 series

Would renting a bmw for a day be worth it? Or should I scrap the idea altogether?

Tell me what you value and like and appreciate in a car and I will recommend a bmw. I’ve had multiple 3 series, 2 series, 1 series , x3 and have drive 650i and 750i

Anything with a 40i at the end of the badge will get you a good bmw experience with a straight six. I’d say a g30 m340i would be nice

    non-BMW peasant

They’re just BMWs lol. This brand has many points-of-entry and there are many generations of the 3 series (or 5 series, whatever you prefer) that will put a smile on your face. Is there any particular model year you’re looking at?

I know you didn’t come here for this type of advice, but don’t talk down about yourself - “non BMW peasant”. Be happy and find the joy in what you have! A BMW is just a car at the end of the day. No one needs a BMW to get you to where you need to go.

If you want to experience driving a BMW, go and rent one or go for a test drive (if they have any 3-series available near you).

    Where are you located, country?

Carmax in the US will let you test drive for 24 hours. 150 miles for free.

Find the car you like and test drive it that way.

Scrap the idea. Go to the dealership and test drive for free. My sales guy let me take it out alone and I was gone 30min or so.

That was enough to convert me.

Test drive at dealership is definitely the way to go. I tested the salespersons loaner car, the m340i. I was driving it conservatively but he said NO, drive it hard and encouraged me to floor it and take a turn at high speed. I was sold after I did that, lol. I bought an x3m40i about 3 months after that. Great experience honestly. I’d recommend going on bmws website and configuring a model you’d enjoy first, particularly so you understand the price and monthly payments. If you can afford it, then go for it and test drive.

Come in at the 5 series or you’re still looking at living in peasantry due, as high as the 4 series, fancy BMW shows up with poverty buttons.

Renting is a solid idea. Might get spendy though sorting between models though. Test drives are free. Bonus, they give you fresh baked cookies!

I would say rent one you can afford - don’t rent an m3 and won’t be able to afford one after loving it. An 340i perhaps?

Where can you rent one? Why not just ask your local dealer for an extended test drive?
