Well, if we’re playing that game better not wear any of your clothes, chances are you’re supporting slave labor.

There are countless examples like this if we’re going to say X thing is bad so I’m not supporting them. Most CEO’s are garbage human beings. People just get sucked into every word Elon says because of Reddit and the media constantly fixated on the guy, while forgetting there 100k people working hard to make Tesla possible.

Because Tesla is the only viable “only car” EV option. Go with any other EV brand and you’re fucked for charging if you wanna go anywhere but local.

“But I have so-and-so EV and never have problems charging during road trips!!”

Yeah bullshit. My gf and I take her M3LR on thousand-mile road trips every month (50k miles/year of just road trips), and I know from experience that non-Tesla chargers are both difficult to find and are often out of service. I’ve seen dudes in Mach-E’s sitting at the same charger for days in Bumfuck, Montana waiting for someone to come repair it.

I recently rented a Polestar 2 and, while it was crazy fun especially in the twisties, the local Chargepoint L3 charging station had 2 of 3 chargers out of order. I was all-in on replacing the Tesla until that point.

Even with all the claims that NOONE wants a Ford EV, I’ve seen plenty of MachE mustangs around. It might just be that NO ONE wants to pay over fifty grand for a Ford EV.

Tesla makes the closest thing to an affordable and relatively nicer EV in the Model 3. The price has gotten more competitive lately too. Also having the lead on the EV market certainly has helped.

Only like GM and Nissan make something relatively competitive in the budget section with the Bolt and Leaf. Hyundai and KIA are certainly catching up too.

Test drove a Model Y yesterday. Very quick and the screen was intuitive, handling and suspension were decent, but the build quality, especially on the interior, was pretty cheap in my opinion

I have several friends and family members in the auto industry. Based on what they tell me, he’s mostly correct.

The Ford Lightning is struggling, the Cadillac Lyriq sells in tiny numbers. The Mustang Mach E is selling OK, but hardly setting the world on fire. Hyundai and Kia are apparently sitting on large inventories of unsold Ioniq 5s and EV6s. Lucid is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars on every Air sold. Rivian is struggling to move their cars.

The Lightning isn’t a great vehicle, but most of the other ones I mentioned are good options. They’re just very expensive, the infrastructure stinks and their range still isn’t great.

Hyundai ioniq is very hard to find here in Canada. The wait period is over six months. I jsut don’t get why Hyundai won’t move over some unsold stuff here. The uptake of EVs in BC is very high. Heck I’d get one if it were priced closer to the model Y.

It’s a LOT of Mustang EVs, Rivians, And Hyundai around me. I see these more than Teslas these days.

A huge point is dealerships. Nobody wants to deal with a sleazy car salesman that is trying to get as much commission off of every sale. Just go online, and you can buy a car. Easy. No markups, no “premium air in tire” charge…

People like fire… 🤣 Especially random spontaneous fires.

My sister in law loves Musk… she wants the Cybertruck 🤣 I told her it’ll be available “Next Year”…
