Fuck Tesla
Gross, no thanks.
muski boy is gonna to be really surprised when he learns government is not on corporation side in other countries as much as it is in USA
There are few circlejerks on reddit as pure as the ones that combine Elon hatred and union worship.
You are awfully busy defending that fascist idiot of a billionaire. Why?
What does a raspberry sound like in Swedish ?
Musk is a nefarious plutocrat.
Tesla won basically immediately for those that want details instead of a clickbait headline and a totally paywalled article with no access or details (hey mods…?)
Looks like the mail service there was refusing to deliver the license plates issued to Telsa. Tesla sued to be able to pick up the plates at least if they wouldn’t be delivered. The postal company was illegally holding the mail hostage. Judge immediately ruled in Tesla’s favor that it was well…not okay to do that. Which is kinda reasonable no matter how much anyone hates Tesla or Musk.
I wonder if the maker/issuer of plates will now join in the strike action against Tesla.
I think that would likely be ruled out, given the decision here.
Strike actions do typically have some restrictions; I work in the health industry and the union governing admins and techs are on strike, but due to the implications, they’re on 3 hour rotations instead of a full strike.
Difference here is healthcare is an essential industry. Selling pricey cars isn’t.
How is the headline clickbait? It is literally a sentence about something that has happened.
No one will read beyond the headline most likely.
No one will read beyond the headline most likely.
Which is really funny because the person above you didn’t read beyond the headline either.
Tesla won a temporary ruling. The actual litigation is still ongoing. This is like claiming they won the war when all they won was a single battle.
Eh they got what they wanted with the preliminary injunction.
I mean in the US, duh, but in Sweden unions are very connected, so this is basically an attack on Swedish Unions, which is not going to fair very well for Musk. He basically just pissed in their sauna.
It’s akin to an attack on the whole Swedish Labor Model.
It is kind of hilarious that it’s all non Tesla employees striking to get a union deal at Tesla, when the Tesla employees are just… trying to work like normal and not interested in the union lol
r/teslamotors will go on to say that Tesla will win while the European members starts realizing out how much of a cult that sub is
Because they won against the government but the government never took away their right to take out license plates. It was postal service workers who were sympathy striking and not delivering the plates. Which they have a right to do and they lost that law suit against the postal service.
Pro union + anti Tesla + holesum chungus Sweden is basically the Holy Trinity of Reddit
Popular things are popular. Water is wet. Have any other totally useful nuggets of wisdom to share?
Because that post is quoting the linked tweet that says Tesla won.
Sounds like the Swedish Transport Authority was denying Tesla the ability to pickup their own license plates.
“Tesla can collect its license plates from the manufacturer Scandinavian Motorcenter. If the Swedish Transport Agency does not agree to it within seven days, a fine of one million kroner awaits, Norrköping district court decided on Monday afternoon.”
Just another reason to never give that childish nepo baby edge lord a goddamn cent
I would trade 100,000 of “you” for one Elon Musk.
Imagine thinking your already in-tatters reputation will be helped by screeching “i ShOUldn’T hAVe To pAY fAIr WaGES!!!” in a courtroom
Sounds like there’s a little more to it in this instance. The Swedish Transport Authority was blocking Tesla from picking up their own license plates.
“Tesla can collect its license plates from the manufacturer Scandinavian Motorcenter. If the Swedish Transport Agency does not agree to it within seven days, a fine of one million kroner awaits, Norrköping district court decided on Monday afternoon.”
I think you meant Krona?
lol that is not going to go well for Tesla.
They already won.
That’s not quite what the article you’ve just linked says. What it says is that the judge granted an interim request for the plates to be picked up by Tesla. It’s a ‘win’ in that it allows Tesla to continue their business, but it isn’t (yet) a win of the case itself. The litigation is still pending.
Another thing nobody is talking about in here, 90% of Tesla’s workforce in Sweden voted against the Union. The Union then went after the post office to stop the delivery of license plates once they were rejected.
This is so weirdly inaccurate. The union didn’t ”go after” the post office, the postal worker’s union (another union) went into sympathy strike with the metal worker’s union, and hence stopped delivering to Tesla. Transportstyrelsen that discharge the plates (and the only ones who can) are using PostNord which is very unionized with the postal worker’s union, and PostNord won the procurement to be Transportstyrelsens only delivery agent.
The 90% number is also fake and can’t be backed up.
90% of Tesla’s workforce in Sweden voted against the Union
I can’t find anything to support this claim — do you have a reliable reference, by any chance?
My understanding is that all service centers in Sweden are still servicing cars so at the very least a decent % of Tesla employees are not on strike while media makes it seem like most service technicians at Tesla are on strike.
I also can’t find any source on % of Tesla employees on strike, so it’s difficult to gauge other than what media is reporting on, most of which don’t actually focus on Tesla employees but on other unions in Sweden refusing to work with Tesla.
This is the only thing I could find coming from a Tesla employee: https://www.na.se/2023-11-16/tesla-ar-den-basta-arbetsgivare-jag-haft
It’s paywalled and not in English but it’s been translated by a few ppl.
Can’t find anything about a union vote in Sweden. I feel like there isn’t enough info about what the Tesla employees want to really form an opinion here.

That’s not the same as a union vote. It’s also not particularly surprising that non-union workers would not strike… since they’re not in a union. The whole point of this action is to give those workers collective bargaining leverage — the power to strike, effectively.
I apologize, I’m parroting info I had read from multiple posts on social media, but I cannot find anything to back this up. Crossing out what was posted above.
probably some bullshit Elon said on twitter, which like, that dude lies so fucking much lmao
Toys Status: No Longer In Pram
It is an interesting case though. A car company from “land of the free” vs an actual land of personal freedoms.
The real question is, which is more damaging for Elon: Losing Sweden as a market for Tesla or letting one union get a win. With his pride and public image, I think it is the latter.
I imagibe he’s gonna pull the same stunt that he did with the Zuckerberg fight i.e, make up an excuse as to why you can’t go through with it
do some twitter shit and chicken out because he’s a pussy but then get dragged into doing it anyways through laws
His mom is going to make him negotiate with Swedish unions?
Land of the free corporate enterprise
FTFY
If the U.S. factories unionize, I bet you five dollars that Elon Musk would attempt to scapegoat them for Tesla failing.
how dare they kill our market advantage of exploiting the workers, that’s un-american!
Hey Tesla, quit Musk.
When economist said that the UAW would hurt the economy, what they ment was paying people a fair wage. With decent benefits
One big union strikes, others usually follow. We saw this when other companies gave better contracts as well. Now Tesla, the union buster, wants to attack a place for trying to give people a fair wage, and decent benefits
They’ll never win, and if they want to suffer. Let 'em
great idea mate… i wonder if suing the place that makes the laws is a bad idea or not… its not like they could … oh idk maybe change the laws and make it legal or smthn?
