Congratulations for Porsche on catching up with Citroen, truly what a marvel of technology
Vespa goes for over $100k in singapore, I don’t think bringing out that car-hating place in discussion have any point
I’ve been meaning to try Zitatel which apparently have unique feature of being able to act as LDAP server, that might be one option
Well my day job is managing Linux systems so it was no brainer, I run other workload on the NAS too, not just file shares, and doing that on off the shelf NAS would just be a PITA.
Wow consumer ITX boards are expensive, rather limited, and look like they will suck power too.
The what now?
It’s nice to see they finally stopped raping the corpse and put it back into the ground.
Personally I’d buy big power supply at the voltage it needs, get some board with fuses and connect all to that.
But it seems you need few more shelves and pack of zip-ties first.
Well, yeah but you want to know which one burns the slowest
Flash is… not great for cold storage from what I’ve read. Electrons eventually leak out and your data is gone. Well, unless you put it in freezer
Fun fact: JEDEC specification for commerical flash only specifies year of retention as minimum at 30C and much lower at elevated temperature

Which header you’re using? I had bad luck with readers being pretty wonky.
Would be interested in results, my SBC cluster died on a bunch of samsung EVO cards turning read-only.
Or rather PRETENDING to be read-write by ignoring writes, which made very funny debugging session where the OS started crashing the moment write cache in RAM ran out and it tried to read the data it wrote…
Cameras are good nowadays but the market is flooded with the cheap stuff. I actually ordered the camera and they said i will have to wait for a month because they dont make them anymore. Like, bruh, the radio is a year old. Wtf are you making and selling then?.
They put a generic (either usb or coax) inteface, bought camera off camera vendor and didn’t wrote in the deal “you have to make it for at least X years”.
Frankly they do not care about supplying replacement parts past the warranty period.
They could code the new camera to be supported in firmware tho…
Also, you dont know they even make the camera until you look into the manual and see a part number of the camera. What the hell even is this bad advertising, kenwood?
They are not making the camera 99.99% of the time, if it is “their” part number it’s most likely still 3rd party but rebranded.
Same as in car industry, BMW is not making brake rotors or ECUs, they are buying them off 3rd party vendors.
But it’s lasting just fine in those conditions ?
So far only reason for me to get newer phone was frankly “no new android for it/new android runs too slow/battery dead”, never actual failure.
Why would they ? It’s for backing up not making pictures for your instagram feed.
Decent camera sensor + optics costs like $50 tops
how dare they kill our market advantage of exploiting the workers, that’s un-american!
