Tesla has filed a lawsuit against the Swedish government's Transport Agency over a workers' strike that has blocked the U.S. auto maker's requests for license plates for new vehicles, business daily Dagens Industri reported on Monday.
This will go absolutely nowhere Transportstyrelsen (Swedish government’s Transport Agency) has done nothing wrong, they have done their part with the license plates. They have sent out the plates to the postal office and thats where their responsibility ends. Its the workers at Postnord that is refusing to send them out so this sueing will go nowhere.
The only way for Transportstyrelse to be liable would be if the plates got lost but aren’t ethey are just stored at Postnord at a safe place so theyu can’t do anything about it. So its basically too bad you just have to like the situation wheter you want it or not.
Swedish government agency does not allow the plates to be picked up or provide an alternative way to legally get the license plates. That is being complicit in blocking the drivers from using their cars.
I know and I guess you could argue that they are complicit about it but it is what it is. In my opinion I think its good that they can’t pick them because that way Tesla can’t have it their way but sure that comes to the expanse to the customer but I think its a worthy sacrifice if it means that the workers get the rights they deserve.
They don’t really have much choice. Swedish government agencies can’t just pick and choose companies to work with freely, there’s a lot of rules and regulations governing it. PostNord won the government contract, the agency is obliged to use their service.
That’s not how sending shit works in Europe? So I assume a first world country as Sweden has similar laws as well.
When you order anything and it doesn’t arrive, even if stolen in front of the door, it’s the responsibility of the sender. Civilized countries don’t mess around.
Normally you are right however this is a special case since the postal workers are sympathi striking (spelling) and what happens because of this falls under force majeure.
Now it has temporarily been resolved but if it hasnt it wouldnt matter if Transportstyrelsen sent more and more plates because they would just pile up at Postnord and Postnord is the only way they can deliver them normally.

Well Yeah, the government has an agreement to uphold, and thats what theyre doing. What PostNord does is out of their hands as part of force majeure

So they should abandon an agreement they have with another company so that Tesla can circumvent the norms of the Swedish labour market?
Tesla experiencing the free market, where employees actually leverage the power they have. And cries to the government about it.
It’s lovely.
Yes. If they can’t deliver a product they need to let tape pick it up
what a wonderful example of “fuck everyone else so long as i get mine”

Their responsibility does not end just because they use a defective Postal service to deliver the plates.
That’s your mistake - you think workers striking to protect their rights makes them defective.
Except you’re wrong and the court already sided with Tesla.
