It’s just like the recommended oil certification. Oil companies have to pay to get that certification… It doesn’t matter if it’s BMW long life, Mercedes-Benz, dexos. If the company doesn’t pay they can’t advertise it on their bottle.
Yeah, but Shell premium is generally better than other fuels. It creates more horsepower, and is presumably a cleaner fuel. HotRod Magazine does an independent test on an engine dino every few years and Shell Vpower premium always wins out.

Oh agreed. Just with they had higher than 91 octane here.
Shell and Sunoco pretty regularly beat out others. It only really matters if you’re running a tuned car, but there’s a noticeable difference.
Most gas stations all sell the same gas from the closest refinery.
Around here, Chevron tends to be the best.
