Inspired by the other thread what do you think screams mid life crisis car.

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way the definitive mid life crisis car, the corvette.

I also think 911s are in that boat.

Corvette is on top of that list.

Miata for the ones who can’t afford a 'vette.

Motorcycle for those who can’t afford a Miata.

Huge lifted truck for those who feel the need to compensate.

My midlife crisis started when I was around 21 with all the cars and motorcycles I owned. Now at 55 I don’t have the toys anymore (damn 12 year old twins) but will have a fun car again some day. Probably build a Cobra kit or something similar. Whatever it is I’m sure it’ll be my midlife crisis car.

Between student loans payments and paltry starting salaries the world makes it impossible for 20 somethings to buy $200k sports cars. Yet car guys never lose their proclivity for speed. 911s and Vettes have never had average buyer ages under 40. Think about it.

I’d say Corvette and 911 are age appropriate, they tend to be driven by older people. It’s a shock when you see a twentysomething in one.

As millennials get into their 40s, I think the midlife crisis car is the 90s JDM heroes in either stock or Fast and Furious configurations.
