I’m fiercely protective of my junior coworkers and do a lot of mentoring.

I don’t think you really know what Point of View means, but great meme keep up the good work.

Just mentally insert “you are observing” after the “POV:” and move on with your day. This argument has been a lost battle for a long time now, in much the same was that “literally” was.

Hey, don’t let me stop you. I only mean to say that you’re very likely wasting your breath, and I know that from my own experience losing the argument against the expanded definition of literally. Languages change, prescriptivism is a losing battle, and that’s just the nature of things. It’s why we aren’t having this exchange in Proto-Indo-European.

I’m with you. It may be that it’s “technically legitimate use of language” according to linguists, but that doesn’t mean my distaste for it isn’t any less legitimate either.

I don’t think it’s smart to bait Christians like this. It’s like pretending you also see a schizophrenic’s worst delusions.

That sounds an awful lot like “don’t do anything that might upset the Christians.”

FWIW I interpreted this as unironically uplifting, along the lines of “Where the Wild Things Are”.

Only Satan ever had a genuine interest in the wellbeing of humans while God loved to keep his sheep dumb, did a little genocide and tortured at least one of his faithful.

ooh good point. my first reaction was that the point of glorifying satanic aesthetics in media is to reaffirm to them that they don’t get to dictate universal morality. of course I probably should have considered sooner that they’re rapidly approaching illness and can’t handle being told to stay in their lane.
