You can get it with the mid-range engine, you just can’t get it with the top hybrid powertrain. The mid-range engine has about the same amount of horsepower as the outgoing V6 and a lot more torque. It’s not a bad option.

Brands like Renault, Peugeot, & Seat have been sold in Mexico without ever touching the US market. This isn’t exactly groundbreaking.
No one in this thread is saying it’s bad for Tesla to do it. They’re just making fun of this thing being extremely ugly. You’re pre-offended for something that isn’t happening.
Mass production is still a huge hurdle for startups and a reason legacy automakers won’t be going away anytime soon. You can get some engineers and fabricators together to develop a new EV, but they’re going to need massive investments that can withstand several years of losing money to get it off the ground and produce any meaningful number of vehicles.
The Tacoma’s hybrid powertrain bumps it above the Canyon for me. A little more powerful, but also a 2400W inverter in the bed.
