  • People can buy what “looks cool to them” and that’s fine. Aerokits are another example. But the made-up lies defending those two options are silly. You didn’t mention any so I have no beef with your decisions.

But, ceramic brakes do not stop a car in shorter distances. Braking is tire limited in Porsches. You will never detect the difference in un-sprung weight. Yes the yellow calipers are cool.

Center locks in a non-race care are unsafe because untrained people cannot maintain them properly. Eventually you will need to have a tire changed at a non-Porsche shop. Look sporty? Yes.

  • Situations like this rarely get better. You may find that the title has issues which has delayed the transfer. Unless this was a really special car to you or a great price, I would tell them you are exercising your right to unwind the deal and walk away since they failed to disclose pertinent information. I agree with other posts that there are many used (and new) Cayennes available for sale currently. New Cayennes (except for hybrids and Turbo GTs) are typically being discounted 4-6%. Its Porsche’s top selling model so supply is not an issue. If they persist demand a significant price reduction as a final offer.

  • The SC is considered among the most reliable 911 models. My concern would be that it has a safety design and equipment that is now over 40 years old. No ABS, no airbags, etc.

A later 996 or 997 would be in the same price range and have much more modern safety equipment. They are both more involving than newer 911s yet have modern safety features.

If it was me, I would prefer to have a newer car to put my family and myself inside of if I planned on driving it very much.
