Yes but overall you’ll use less fuel with the engine idling in neutral than with the engine braking in fuel cut mode. This is because you’ll travel much further in neutral than when you engine brake.

I guess there’s two kinds of V2L isn’t there?

There’s the “we put an electrical outlet on your car so you can plug things into your car” type of V2L. That just seems kind of gimmicky to me but I could see it being nice while going camping, except I never go camping. Plus it seems like you could just buy a 12v to 120v inverter, hook it up to the 12v accessory battery, then turn on the car so it keeps the accessory battery topped up.

Then there’s the other V2L. The one that’s supposed to be a game changer. The one that runs everything in your home automatically whenever your power goes out. The one where you can have it fill up the car battery overnight when your power costs are cheap, and then run the home off of the car during the day when the power costs are expensive. I know the Ford Lightning was supposed to be able to do this but I don’t think they ever got anywhere with it. Are there any cars on the market that do this?

Are you parked on a level surface when you’re checking the oil? And have you let the car sit with the engine off for 5 minutes?

So you have to pay an extra charge to get a charger that will charge your car. English language fun.

I’ve had a “go fast” car before and did my time with it. I’ll take comfort now.

Well that’s sort of how I look at mini cooper.

Something I’ve noticed with my EV and PHEV is that they don’t do that thing gas cars do where you drive the first 20-40 miles of the tank and the range doesn’t drop.

I drive 5 miles and my range drops from 37 to around 32 miles. Or from 105 to around 100.

I mean I doubt it makes more than having vending machines somewhere. They sell the electricity to you for maybe 20 cents more per kWh than what they pay for it. You put in 50 kWh for 30 minutes they’re keeping $10. Hypothetically I guess each station could make $20/hr profit then right?

The little credit card reader on the one I used said 25 cents per minute. I think it just changes between the price and saying to insert the card.

Looks nice. The lounge is kind of meh though. But the bathroom and charging station itself looks good.
