People Who Drive on Eco Pro Mode, How Much Savings Do You See?

Been using it lately and notice the car gets significantly slower which sucks but wondering if people who have used it long term see considerable savings.

    <1mpg difference … negligible

I do between 30-32mpg on my 22 miles each direction commute in comfort mode in my 21’ 540i. avg 27mpg with currently 302xx miles on the car.

I’m not sure exactly how much, but my dad has an M850i that he drives in eco since he has to commute around the city a lot for work. Mileage almost as good as a B48

its great when you are almost out of gas, use eco pro and drive stream behind a lorry, it forces you to go slow on the accelerator

it might give you that extra mile, it would also be good for a new driver maybe because of the slow gas response

its not a magical solution to save energy without compromise, its a setting that will pinch out those extra miles in case thats what you want/need

Ive easily saved over 500 miles by using Eco. Work travel is mainly highway so I just pop on cruise control and eco and love seeing that number grow.

I don’t drive on eco pro, but I once tried to get as many miles as possible on comfort compared to driving it normally in sport plus, the difference was about 50 miles on the tank. Got 500 instead of 450ish.

I switch to Eco Pro when I’m at a stop light that I know will take longer than 20 seconds. The engine shuts off and I save a little gas. Over the last 11,000 miles the car says I have been stopped at traffic lights for over 7 hours. I’ll leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine how much money that is. Other than that I’m in Sport 90% of the time.

I find it works best on long highway driving, I’ve gotten somewhere around 35mpg in my 440i. I usually get around 24mpg in my day to day using comfort mode.

I coded mine to start in eco pro. I love the coasting and also want to prevent higher rpm’s while the engine is not yet warm. I’ll go up in to sport+ if needed but most of the time I’m in eco pro

I use eco pro quite a bit when I am stuck in traffic, driving my kids to school etc. I find it makes a tank of fuel last quite a bit longer overall, although I have never done a more scientific comparison of it. If I use eco pro I can get up to the 600 mile range out of a full tank of diesel in my X5.

It does definitely make the car slower and more ponderous, but if I’m stuck in traffic anyway it really doesn’t matter. The pleasant side effect is that when I put it into sport mode the car briefly feels like a Ferrari.

I genuinely don’t mind eco pro (or automatic start stop) for regular driving in busy traffic, but then if I’m honest with myself I’m probably just getting old and boring… which kind of sucks.

With eco pro I managed about 52mpg on a trip of roughly 550km that i do regularly. Withou eco pro it is around 35-42mpg. Within a whole tank i see up to 90 km range gain with eco pro. Car is a 2018 F34 325D

Not worth it, tried it once on a 300 mile trip, set cruise in ECO PRO, gained like 10 miles. Have not used since.

I‘ve got a tuned N55 and to be quite honest this thing just likes to guzzle no matter how I drive it. I‘ve heard people say they get good fuel economy on their tuned N55s but man mine just drinks like a stepdad no matter what. I‘ve checked for vacuum/boost leaks, cleaned the injectors, the whole nine, nothing seems to help. If anyone in this thread might know what’s up then feel free to let me know cause it is a bit annoying

I have a 535D. If I drive conservatively, say no faster than 71 on the freeway, I’ve gotten as much as 42 miles to the gallon combined. About 70% freeway and 30% city driving. On the freeway same speed, I get as much as 46 miles to the gallon. combined I’ve gotten over 700 miles to one tankful. It’s only an 18 gallon tank. With the torque of the diesel, Eco mode does not feel much slower and if you need to put your foot in it suddenly it goes. My worst mileage ever was 23 miles to the gallon. But that was in full sport mode down a very windy road averaging twice the speed limit.
