In Austria it doesn’t work that well (mainly due to pricing probably) . Superchargers mainly hogged by old model S (which probably free charging ?)

Depends on location probably. Know of some here in Austria that are hardly visited despite open. But some others have customers. Location nevertheless is very important. My main point was - for the price of a 350kw charger you can probably build 50 L2 chargers spread across the town/city. So risky to build only very few chargers within a town. The highway there might help

From a ROI point having multiple slower chargers is probably better. Within a city people hardly fast charge normally (or do they in the states? European here. Within cities it’s mostly L2 at 2x11kw , but many such Stations) Maybe 50-75kw ones at supermarkets but the proper DC chargers are mostly along highways. In your map there is a highway , but I guess it would only be interesting those passing there. Mostly people will rely on slow chargers and as others stated intial costs are very high compared to L2 while you cannot charge that much more compared to L2

Kinda bought my id4 online . Called the VW/Audi/seat/lambo dealership, asked about that car as it was cheaper as other id4 listings. They may have lied with the “decide today , might be gone soon” but it seemed believable as other id4 models were usually a few thousand more with a mileage around 1k. Thought about it a bit, told them to send me the contract via mail. They did, I signed and paid and picked it up a week later. They showed me stuff of the car and knew more than I did (like the use two fingers on temp control to turn on heated seats , how to release the hook, some settings , where to find software version and so on). The guy knew some stuff and it wasn’t even the main VW salesguy I had my call with

Oh, forgot the kias and Hyundai’s. Also common sight. Kona and niro especially, but ioniq5 and ev6 also every now and then. Hardly seen taycans so far (or I mix them up with the Panamera). But that’s more of a posh car. Similar to the i7 or eqs/eqe

Reminds me of the German study stating EVs produce way more CO2 than petrol cars using the Hypothese "every kWh used comes from coal plants and cars are produced using coal energy while petrol cars are built using clean energy and petrol transportation as well as refinement were not considered.

Only can speak of austria, but they become quite common. Enyaq, id3, born, id4, model S, model 3 and model Y, Zoe and leaf are common sights. BMW i4 also can be spotted in and around Vienna regularly

And jaguar iPace. So they have a certain experience with electric suvs/crossovers there

Are you from the USA by any chance ? Seems the hate and acting up there is worse than elsewhere. Beside my wife’s uncle stating he will never get one if he can avoid it, I only got positive comments beside maybe "waste of money " (which in my case is true. Had a Dacia that did cost very little , and I don’t drive much anymore. So the id4 wasn’t necessary but something I wanted )

Nürburgring is usually the GP layout.

I have issues parking my ID4 in some places. That thing is 4.6 long (but a bit wider). 2m width and height is the limit in quite a few parking garages (Austria). Above 5m length f**ks you hard trying to park / drive down the round road to a lower/higher level

Damn I wanted one of these some day because they are built in Austria and the ocean extreme with its range and solar roof sounds very cool. I mean maybe they get very cheap after they collapse a bit. Assumingly they get expensive like the Karma though

Don’t know. Crossover , SUV or whatever. Family hauler that fits the stroller and some stuff almost as good as the estate I had before. Would have preferred an estate and the id4 kinda is a higher estate with a bit of an high stance

In my country they increased taxes on ice cars (new , as well as part of insurance is ice engine tax , and there is a co2 tax on petrol/diesel). Together with small EV incentives the EV gets cheaper especially when driving a lot or looking at the longer TCO (inspection, service, running costs)

True, heard good stuff about the charging and it’s good looking. Went ID4 though because it was ~10k€ less than the other electric SUVs there are (VW wants to empty the lots for the facelift so they offered 9000€ rebate on those 12-18month old ones sitting around here) Ioniq5 and ev6 were high on my list, but out of my budget. Could have waited 2 years though probably for a used one.

If the price of the ocean extreme drops within a year, I might consider one. Those for Europe are built and serviced by external companies (built by magna who also does the Toyota supra / BMW Z4 and jaguar iPace)
