In California, you seem to have European electricity prices with American petrol prices, so it is not surprising that the comparison doesn’t look great. You might be better off with something like a Prius for the next couple of years

11kW is three phase, 16A surely? So you’d be running more complex rectification hardware (unless the three phase models always have this overhead) which could make it less efficient, I’d have thought.
The tipping point has already happened. BEVs are at 25% of new sales in China, 15% in Europe, 12% globally and the rate of growth year-to-year is significant.
This is definitely a problem on this sub.
