Is this dealer in NorCal? My buddy did this… had the loaner for like 3 months.
Try a CGT on :-)
Owned, friends own, and/or driven all of these, and so focusing on the tangibles that matter most to an enthusiast for sports cars:
Porsche has be best balance of feel, handling, performance, reliability. Some brands may do certain things better:
Ferrari - sound, looks, lust. I hate the way they feel and drive. Steering feels overly light and too direct off center. Chassis lacks feel of confidence in grip.
Aston - Looks. Everything else is terrible.
Corvette - value for the level of performance.
Mac - raw speed, drive systems to make you feel like Senna at the limit. everything else is terrible. especially the repair bills.
Lambo - Nothing
I think they all did equally shitty. 100% a tire issue and too much pressure, on all of them. These guys need to try 25lbs or so and watch how much better the grip is even on crappy skinny road focused tires.
It’s not CP, its the station owner… some are seriously opportunistic. The one near me is $10 for 30 mins at 50kw. So basically assuming full charge rate 50c/kwh.
CPO has a pretty extensive checklist of items, and dealer has to bring all maintenance current, along with fix any issues (ie tire wear), along with pay a pretty high fee for the warranty. But, for example, a car can have paint work/accident damage and pass CPO. And the CPO may not identify that.
An independent set of eyes will identify if there are issues is a good idea if you are not familiar with these cars. But a PPI is only as good as the shop and tech performing it, and they may or may not be better than your dealer.
I’ve bought 3 CPO cars, none I had inspected separately.
All fixable. But, it’s the rust you can’t see you should be worried about. Every part is available or can be fabricated. Are you wanting to burn your money with fire? If not, find a car that isn’t like this. You’ll spend more than the clean value of the car restoring it
