I’m looking forward to the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid using the Toyota hybrid drivetrain (2.0 toyota engine with 3 electric motors, including electric driving the rear wheels for AWD under ~35 MPH. The CX-50 and Corolla Cross hybrid are built in the same factory, I’m almost positive that the CX-50 Hybrid will use the same drivetrain as the Corolla Cross Hybrid AWD.

Unfortunately we need to be careful what we wish for. About 7% additional maximum memory bandwidth - so if you were in a 100% memory bandwidth constrained situation that would be the maximum performance uplift. But being 100% memory bandwidth constrained is extremely rare so it’s probably a marginal improvement. But hey, any extra performance for free is a good thing.

It would be really neat to be able to buy one with a 7600 CL36 and 6000 CL30 profile already on-board for ease of use with different CPUs. I’m familiar with setting everything up manually (on DDR4 at least) but for friends builds it’s nice to have the option to help them set a profile without doing it all manually.

It’s practical to use their existing test suite. It allows for comparison against other parts they have previously tested. Plus plenty of people are still playing games from the past 5 years.

Valve cover leak very common, new gasket and it’s good. The top is more involved, personally I wouldn’t replace a soft top myself so I would consider that a $2000 repair for a shop (less if you’re lucky) and use it to negotiate price if they are willing to budge. Other than that seems like a good deal. Inspect the rocker panels for rust but if it’s a CA car it’s probably good.

The SL has that and the air scarf feature, they’re a dream on cold days.
