While the author doesn’t understand how cars work, I think there is a somewhat valid (or at least hard to ignore) point in there somewhere… And I can see this sort of tech eventually proliferating even in the US, probably.
Don’t get me wrong, I obviously love speed, and I don’t know how you implement ISA in a way that isn’t a nanny-state joke. Everyone knows posted speed limits are merely a suggestion, and the “actual” limit is like 5-20 over… And sometimes you may do the occasional short burst above even that because reasons.
But just a few more stories about some coked up idiot taking his 600 hp monster to places it was never meant to be, and killing the wrong little girl, and some kinda speed nanny feels inevitable in a tech dominated world.
My GT4 beats me up a bit on the street, and can be a chore to drive in many situations. I would absolutely not own it if it wasn’t going to be a regular track car. As for which Porsche I would get in that situation… Maybe a Cayman GTS? Or a 911 T? I’m not sure, I’d have to give that some thought. Not sure I’d even own a Porsche if not for the track… Just feels like too much car for the street to me, at least given the somewhat boring roads around here.
