While the author doesn’t understand how cars work, I think there is a somewhat valid (or at least hard to ignore) point in there somewhere… And I can see this sort of tech eventually proliferating even in the US, probably.
Don’t get me wrong, I obviously love speed, and I don’t know how you implement ISA in a way that isn’t a nanny-state joke. Everyone knows posted speed limits are merely a suggestion, and the “actual” limit is like 5-20 over… And sometimes you may do the occasional short burst above even that because reasons.
But just a few more stories about some coked up idiot taking his 600 hp monster to places it was never meant to be, and killing the wrong little girl, and some kinda speed nanny feels inevitable in a tech dominated world.
