The sticker may not even mean anything. Best bet is to ask what they used. The worst that might happen is a little oil burning in summer.
They bought used tires from an independent party and so assume any risk. You’re free and clear.
Saving the car is ridiculous. If you’re not breaking down every week, then it’s safe to say you should be able to take this on a trip. Of course, now that I’ve said that, you’re going to break down exactly 3 hours into the trip and you’ll need a part that’s on backorder.

Tell them the truth. You’ll probably have to sign over the title of they’re even willing to take the car off you. Otherwise pay what you owe because that’s the right thing to do.
