    I really don’t see a problem with this. Carmakers, even the exotic ones, typically don’t have services designed for concours level paint and cleaning prep. They could, but you better believe they would pass this cost down to the consumer.

    They likely don’t do this because it makes little sense to. The logistics process would undo much of what they would do at the factory.

    It makes more sense to farm out the final detail work to the dealer, or customer using his own service at the other end of the vehicle logistic chain.

      I dont think its reasonable to expect concours level paint, but a lot of the issues here are things that should have been cleared at the factory. The dealer should take care of love marks and any other imperfections that happens during shipping, they should not have to wet sand the car because the factory forgot a whole damned panel.

      There should also not be compound residue on a car this expensive, and especially not on the interior of the car, that is absolutely unacceptable.
