The 7 series is listed too. I don’t really like Motor trends since they’re very opinionated. The Ioniq 6 for example was a POS during my test drive, and the model 3 is the same car tho.

The looks don’t phase me too much, but hot damn did this car put on pounds between generations. It’s almost 200 kilograms heavier than the non comp F87.

Kind of goes against the whole small, checkable fun sports coupe mentality and outs the G87 well into the Grand Tourer category.

Owners in the forums are showing 1655 kilos with the manual. Cars have been getting heavier every year since the 80s.

At least the power to weight has been increased by 11% vs the F87 M2 CS which is pretty substantial.

Kind of crazy the potentially best driving 911 of all time didn’t make the final cut, but I’m not sure how much price is taken into consideration. I would expect the Prius to win COTY given the finalists.

Same in Dec. I did Toronto Red. I don’t mind the styling and it’s refreshing BMW is doing something different. Audi and MB are too boring with their designs. My CA is an enthusiast who has owned and owns multiple Ms and drove both the Manual and Automatic G87. I thought he would for sure tell me manual and said so for financial reasons down the road but said the automatic by far is faster and more fun to drive. That sold me.

Is the ZF8 that bad??? I thought it was one of the best automatics to come out in recent years from what I’ve heard. Unless you’re talking about the carryover manual.

It’s certainly not better than the f series dct, which makes it a downgrade. Most any serious other performance car today comes with a dct if you don’t go stick. Faster shifts, better performance.

Porsche’s Pdk, for example, shifts MUCH faster and performs unquestionably better. It’s just a fact. BMW switched to autos from dct to save cash and because they thought the average guy wouldn’t know or care about the difference.
