Mind the break in instructions (if new) and while an oil change at the end isn’t required it could be beneficial.
Lighter, bigger wheels with go flat tires made a huge ride, performance, and aesthetic improvement on mine.
It’s fast, you will be above the speed limit before you know it - so be careful!
I think the parts that resonate with me the most as a G87 owner are:
The car is more of a successor to older M3 models, rather than the F87. The current M3/M4, while very capable, are just getting too big for me. I also recognize the M2 might be too big for others.
Ride compliance - it handles rough roads so much more comfortably than a F87, this was important for me in my situation. The downside here is the extra weight to accomplish this.
The vitrol and hate from some F series owners. I like the F series cars, I like the G8x, and I also like the E series cars. Liking the G87 isn’t a condemnation of the F series. I think you can like and respect both without being a dick.
I just picked mine up last night and I love it.
The amount of hate the car gets from F series owners is pretty high, from just about everyone else you will get a different reaction.
Personally I don’t love the front of the G87 as much as the front of the G42 or the F87, but the profile, hips, interior and ride quality are so much higher. Add some aftermarket touches to the car (front splitter, spoiler, color matched lower front vent) and it looks fantastic.
I test drove an og F87 and immediately knew it was too stiff and bouncy for local roads. The G87 is much different - possibly because of the weight in addition to adaptive dampers - while you can feel the road through the chassis it is much less harsh.
Also, there are multiple radiator protectors available.
Wow, way ahead of me, less then 200 in 4 days (but all back roads)
