I found a used 2021 Mazda Touring CX5 for $22K OTD but with 68k miles on it. Is it worth it to pay $28k for a similar make if the car has <40k miles? Is the first car deal a good one?

That price to mileage ratio seems a little off to me.

But the short answer, in principle, yes.

IMO I’ve had nothing but bad luck buying used cars with age being the priority, and nothing but good luck with cars where I’ve either gone a little older or paid a little more for lower miles.

Mazda factory CPO go from there.

You didn’t give details on warranty. If it’s a CPO from the dealer pass

They said it actually just met its warranty at 60k miles so no warranty. I’d have to pay additional if I want whatever warranty the dealership is offering

If you watch detailing on YT you’ll know that farts can be sucked out of the upholstery, making it basicially brand new - and the best part is, you get to save the jars of fart juice for use at a later date; say a seasonal gift or a wonderful anniversary present for a loved one.

I usually go for lower mileage, as well. Disagree with the dude that said get an extended warranty. Waste of money. Especially on a Touring. Reliable AF.

$6k seems a bit more difference than I like for the difference between 40 and 68k, SO if the 68k one has a good service history it should be fine if you choose to save the money and you can accept ~800 more seat farts injected, LOL. But yeah, these are very reliable vehicles, if the 68k one test drove just as good as the 40k one, and again has been taken care of properly it should be fine.
