3+yr old car (i would assume around 4yr old battery) with low mileage (around 30k km). I never had issue with battery before. Today i kept the car on with blower and seat warmer without the engine running for around 30mins. After that car wouldn’t start, and had to use a jump starter. After that i drove for around 20mins and did not have any problem starting car again. I have put my car battery on a 5Amp trickle charger and battery indicator went to 75%+ in around 10mins.

Is battery charging back up so quickly any indication that the capacity of the battery has gone down? What are the signs to look for before battery die? I hear that most batteries die around 5yr mark - is that true?

Batteries are tending to die between 3 and 5 years after manufacture. Extreme temps will cause an early failure. Try to refrain from using just battery power for long periods of time.

You flattened the battery beyond it’s capability to start the car, seat warmer is a big current consumer, this all sounds normal, a good drive will bring the battery back up.

If it’s not a sealed battery did you check water levels in the cells? If low add distilled water
