I had tried to c clamp the pistons back and even that won’t work they won’t retract and I can’t get the caliber over my break pads what’s the issue

If you’ve never rebuilt a caliper before I’d suggest you buy a new one. There’s usually a core charge so keep this one and bring it back when you are done

Yeah I’d go for the new caliper as well. Makes the fix less difficult.

I’d also go for the caliper rebuild kit and rebuild the old caliper in your spare time. It will be a good learning experience and you’ll have a spare caliper for the future.

The pistons have popped out of the caliper. For this you either need to get a rebuild kit and learn how to rebuild a caliper or purchase one that’s already been rebuilt and slap it on. Because good luck trying to put this back together as it is and have it not leak, seals are probably destroyed. Either the brakes pads/rotor was worn so thin the piston exceeded it’s travel and popped out, or the brake pedal was pressed while the caliper was off

I’ve only done that to rebuild them. But now a days, they don’t sell the rebuild kits at Autozone and O’Reilly’s. If you’re not rebuilding them, you need to get them to align back into the caliper and press them back down. Once they get started back in, then use a C-clamp and old break pad to compress it back down. Be careful not to damage the O ring seal in the caliper. Brake fluid will leak out when you press it back down since you stepped on the brakes too many times with the calipers off the wheel assembly. So when you start pressing them back down, some fluid will leak out as they get pressed back down.
