It’s crazy that Illinois has such a generous rebate but so little funding for it. You either have to be very lucky and have bought in the 90 days before the window opens or be waiting ready to buy a car on a few days notice. I’m not an economist but it seems like the program would do more good if they reduced the rebate amount.

I sent mine off on 11/1 via certified mail. It wasn’t picked up until 11/7. So I know I’m in work the first 3800 at least with a post mark of 11/1

Same here certified mail front the main post office in Chicago to the Springfield PO Box took 6 days 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Makes 11/1 received 11/7. Maybe they only pickup their mail once a week???

Ah, reminds me of the good ole days when they retroactively canceled the IL tax credit for EVs after I’d already bought and taken delivery of my 2015 Model S.

Has anyone tried to use the IL credit for a lease buyout? I was wondering if it was possible since the requirements state that it must be for a new or used vehicle, but not for leased. However, when one does a buyout, isn’t it considered used?

I was thinking this would be a good way to take advantage of both the lease tax credit and the IL tax credit for EVs like the Volvo EX30 that don’t qualify for the non-lease credit.
