Every single new car is coming with big screens everywhere, am I missing something, online every single reviewer, commentor, reporter, etc all say they absolutely despise big screens and prefer buttons.

But then Ford for example said that their focus groups for the new Mustang overwhelmingly favored big screens(in the savagegeese mustang review)… is this just a thing where enthusiasts are just the vocal minority, or do most people really dislike big screens, and car manufacturers are just doing it to cut costs?

No reviewer said they despise big screens. They like big screens, but they do not like having everything in the screen. And most people regardless if they care about cars or not like bigger screens.

I like big screens only when using navigation. Don’t like them when I’m playing music and it’s just the song name and 5 other playlists just cluttering up the screen

It annoys me that in my 22 F-250, I have to open a menu on screen if I want to turn the defroster on at anything other than max temp and fan speed. My wife’s Tesla Model 3 is close to infuriating when I’m trying to do something as simple as open the glove box, set the windshield wiper speed, or figure out how to listen to a radio station.

My 2019 flex was almost the perfect amount of tech for me. It had Carplay/Android Auto, physical controls, and options to change some of the settings without taking my hands off of the steering wheel. I wish I was smart enough to figure out a way to run that headunit in my 14 Mustang.

Its a technology world. People want a tv everywhere they go. Their car, bigger phone screens, bigger TVs, everything.
