Really not looking forward to play Villa away, they can cause exactly the same issues as Chelsea did to us (compact 442) but with far better and clinical strikers upfront. Diaby/Watkins/Bailey looks pretty scary in counter tbh. We were lucky to get a win last season at Villa park and hopefully we have a fully fit squad to face them.
But we have learnt from the Chelsea game, haven’t we?
we were equally impotent against tottenham and lens as we were against chelsea, in addition to our performance collapse against forest and fulham (those were more low block plus transitions vs intense pressure but still), i’m not sure how much we’re really learning when these lapses of standards keep cropping up. we keep having ‘wake up calls’ and then get caught sleeping
Would hope so. If we continue to play like the 1st 60 mins against Chelsea, Villa will destroy us.
