    Is Havertz CF inevitable?

I know that’s not where he was yesterday (tbh I struggled to figure out what we were doing with all the subs) but we can’t deny that him going up and giving us an outlet via aerials has helped us improve in both of our recent games.

He was playing RCM yesterday. I think Arteta will persist a bit with Havertz midfielder with the hope that he can still be an outlet when he pushes up and still provide the defensive work necessary in the middle. He is becoming more confident in the team even when his last two appearances have been as a substitute against good opposition with us looking for goals. This means we’ll still need Zinchenko for buildup duties, with Ode dropping to help out.

That right half space is where he operated for Leverkusen. Wouldn’t be against seeing him there more often.

Chelsea fans are having a hard time digesting what happened. Some of them are saying if we have title ambitions we should be beating them, but they simultaneously say they are making a resurgence and improving. So which is, is Stamford Bridge the ‘three-point bridge’ for title challengers? Or have they made inroads to being a more competitive team and will be harder to beat at their own ground?

They are so desperate to think we come out of that match worser off they are shitting on themselves saying teams who want to win the league ‘should be beating us at our own ground’.

Our recruitment team was cooking with that Douglas Luiz deadline bid.

Finally clicked through and blocked suggested posts from ArsenalFC. They kept coming up and I would start reading thinking it was a Gunners post and think that the match thread was leaking. Then I’d look at the subreddit

    Midweek team:

    Raya - Tomiyasu - Saliba - Gabriel - White - Rice - Havertz - Odegaard - Trossard - Jesus - Saka

I don’t think we’ll see Partey from the start, but maybe Mikel will surprise. Either way I think Havertz should start.

Definitely feels like something aint clicking for us just yet.

Shouldn’t matter so long as we keep touch with the top of the table. It will start clicking at some point and when it does we could go on a 10 game winning streak like we have done in the past.

But Fabio was about to cut the ball back to Nketiah for a tap in before he was fouled at Fulham. ROmero’s handball stopped a high chance of a goal.

People should not be scared of rotating Odegaard. We have 3 options at RCM which should, on paper, be good enough to provide legitimate competition. However to do that, they need match fitness in the position.

People argue that we need to sign a proper back up for him, which is crazy to me - anyone we sign will clearly fail if they don’t get the chance to prove themselves.

on track to be a 90 point team with Zinchenko in it last season but it’s taken 5 games this season for us to “clearly need to move past him”

football fans are so ruthless and not in a good way, just dumb rewriting of the past to suit whatever is the current narrative

Don’t really have to rewrite the past. He has his pros and cons, but next summer will he be a undroppable piece? We’ll see.

considering Teta starts him every game and binned KT whom he loved for him I would say yes it’s very likely he’ll be a key part of the project in a year

I adore this tendency to want to bin a good player the moment someone else seems to do well there and in the same vein complaining about options

but this has been a hallmark of Mikel’s tenure though. Raya replacing ramsdale out of nowhere, Tierney who was one of the players Mikel consistently relied upon when fit was binned the moment he signed Zinchenko, when Xhaka left, im sure plenty figured ESR would be given a proper chance but he went to sign a player who’s never even played in that position for it. If anything, apart from Saka, Saliba and Rice now, i think it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that everyone else is disposable.

What’s interesting is that only Raya and Ramsdale are both Arteta players. I don’t like how he didn’t use KT even though he is not useless but as a part of trusting the process I understand he knows vastly better than me what he’s doing. But with fans I feel more often than not it’s guessing game and complaining about contradictory things

A lot of people are being very emotional yes but I can’t remember one game this season where Zinchenko did the things he was doing last season. I feel it’s by instruction but idk

The chemistry with Rice and the 8s isn’t there yet at all and everyone is suffering for it. But I’m not making snap judgements on players off of a few games where lack of cohesion is the main factor
