They’re not being raised at all, since Israel is killing both themselves and their parents.

Also, justifying killing children by claiming they were gonna “go bad” anyway is just horrible. Killing children is wrong. There is no cause that can justify it, and any cause that attempts to are horrible causes and their champions are horrible people.

Hamas was a small virtually unknown movement in Palestinian politics until they got a large infusion of cash…from Netanyahu. A man who was about to go to jail when an attack from Hamas permanently postponed his recall. And here he is out of jail and murdering the very people he’s built his career upon teaching Israelis to hate.

The genocide started almost as soon as Israel was created. That’s what settler colonialism is, replacing native inhabitants with your settlers.

I didn’t say shit about who started what. Lemme make sure I understand your point of view though, please correct me if this isn’t correct. You feel it’s OK for Israel to kill children, because they’ve been harmed themselves in the past, right? That’s completely alright with you?

If Israel wanted to limit collateral damage, they could. Would it be riskier to Israeli forces to send soldiers into some terrorist hideout instead of missiles? Absolutely. They put the lives of children on a scale against soldiers who knew what they were signing up for and decided killing children was fine. 64,000 children, according to UNICEF.

If that’s the Israeli army limiting child deaths, if the world we live in is one where they cared, or tried, to save any Palestinian children, then they must be the most incompetent army in history. Other evidence makes it clear it’s not incompetence, but for this discussion, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, which still leaves me with absolute incompetence. Wikipedia tells me there’s 169,500 active Israeli Defence Force members. That’s a dead child for every 3 service members. That’s a genocide, even if it were a genocide through incompetence.

To be clear, those comments are clearly against our instance guidelines and we’ve gone through and removed them. The user was given a temp ban, and a discussion was opened with the rest of the team about making it permanent.

If you have noticed a pattern of some kind, please share it with us. This is the second time in the past few days I’ve seen a reference to this, so I definitely want to know if there’s something we should be doing differently.

We rely on reports to find out about rule breaking content, so please report them to us. If it is urgent, you can message @admin@lemmy.ca

Our current rule around hateful and discriminatory content is as follows:

We do not allow statements that incite or promote hatred against an identifiable group, as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.

In this section, identifiable group means any section of the public distinguished by colour, race, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or mental or physical disability.

              https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/section-318

We extend this definition to include any group that a reasonable person would recognize as a target of hatred, consistent with the intent of the law. Disagreement and sharp criticism of someone’s actions or beliefs are not covered by this rule, as this rule looks for content that targets people based on identity rather than as an individual.

We do not allow content that promotes or endorses hateful ideologies, including racial or religious supremacism, ethnonationalism, genocidal ideology and denialism, and gender-based hate movements. This includes Nazism, neo-Nazism, white nationalism, fascism, Antisemitism, Islamophobia, anti-Black racism, Holocaust denialism, residential school denialism, anti-LGBTQ+ hate, and transphobia. The absence of a specific item from this list does not mean it is permitted.
