For me it was this

True culture. I’m actually pretty sure the chords were correctly animated

I recognize an alarming amount of classical music from watching Bugs Bunny
Also plenty of early 20th from Ren and Stimpy.

i have a group i’m working with. we’re almost good enough to play this. it’s on my bucket list.
They were called Merrie Melodies because that was their original purpose.
Ahhh Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, aka Kill the Wabbit.
Lots of Tannhauser in that one too. “Weeeetuuun, my wuv…”
“The Rabbit Of Seville” is my favorite https://vimeo.com/111740264
They reprinted a bunch of EC war comics from the 1950s.
One issue was a special about the Civil War. One story was a biography of Lincoln; another explained the North’s strategy; another was about how Stonewall Jackson died.
A comic book for 10 year olds in the 1950s had more solid information that most High School classes today.
This accursed fucker

Fiiiigaro!
I’m a little surprised this reference still lands.
I just brought my 8 year old son to see Coyote vs Acme, and he fucking loved it. We watched Roadrunner cartoons to lead up to it and he almost died laughing. This was the first he’d ever heard of Looney Tunes
Wdym it’s out???
Nvmd. the US release (or wherever you are) is the 20th Aug. While in Germany it’s the 17th.
Phew. Was I afraid I missed the releaseIt came out on Fri 8/28 here in the US. Def recommend

the Hey Arnold! episode where they go see the opera Carmen lives rent free in my head.
kill the wabbit
About once a month this goes through my head:
Yeeesss you’re next
Yooouu’re so next
Caaaaaaan’t you see that I’m much swee-tah
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII’m your little senoritER
That’s The Rabbit of Seville, isn’t it?
Yoooouuu’re correct.
Sooooo correct.
Bugs bunny in drag can get it.
me and a buddy came to an agreement years ago: slutty Halloween costumes are only ok if the person clearly looks like Bugs Bunny in the slutty costume.

I had the opportunity to check out the bugs bunny symphony experience this past April and what a wonderful experience!
Florida Orchestra killed it.
I’ve grown up loving most of those classical tracks. rhapsody rabbit with Franz liszt’s Hungarian rhapsody no.2 is great. (no 3 is also worth checking out… maybe even 6 too.)
i understand that in rabbit of Seville, that piece was actually written for that show. so phenomenal works were being done for those animation pieces - labors of love.
but those works transcended time.
I wanted to learn to play HR#2 after watching Bugs do it for years. Little did I know that Liszt had giant hands and twelve fingers.
A Chuck Jones classic.
