In audio from the fundraiser in Southampton, N.Y., which was provided to The Canadian Press by a source who attended the private function, Vance said Carney is a “very sweet guy” and he gets along with him quite well.
But, Vance said, Carney “comes in and puffs his chest out and says, ‘I’m going to, like, out-tough Donald Trump.’”
“It’s hilarious because Carney presents this as some victory for Canada when fundamentally, like, they climb down on a lot of issues,” Vance told the room.
“And the whole point of this is to change Canada’s behaviour,” Vance said. “Which they, you know, not entirely, but they’ve certainly shifted in a Trumpian direction.”
I don’t care what the couch humper says.
LOL couch humper? Where does that come from?
A single comment on Reddit made up a story about a passage in HillBilly Elegy that was removed about Vance having sex with couch cushions.
https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/jd-vance-couch-sex-rumor-explained-1235068142/
Been rumors for a couple of years about him humpin a couch. The best part is, as far as I know, he never denied it happened.
That seems like a very odd rumour :) i’m not even sure how one 'humps a couch" (and i’m just fine with keeping it that way btw)
this man is a mouth piece for Peter Thiel, nothing more.
" and then the President rolled out his lovely huge penis and Mark Carney started crying"
Oh no! Spouting meaningless nonsense and opinion just to stir up bombast and intrigue. What will Peter Thiel have him say next?
Hard to speak with a dick in your mouth.
Worse, a Chesterfield dick.
JD Vance the gutless chesterfield humper is a pussy and should keep his bitch mouth shut.
JD Vance:
Ha! Canadians, you don’t even know it, but we’re winning so hard right now!! 😤
I think Carney has always had out the items Canada is willing to negotiate on, and it’s the Trump administration that’s been trotting around like a peacock making a show of everything, looking to take what Canada’s offering (e.g. Keystone XL) at the last minute and pretending it is Canada that relented. The DST and GH bridge were battles we seemed to have lost but we’re trying to run the clock, far as I can tell, for an administration that can better be held to their commitments.
Well if that’s the strategy they’re going to run the clock straight into the ground at the straight into the ground at this point. We have been losing on all fronts and although we don’t know the details of this deal yet it’s not sounding terribly promising
We can’t afford to go two years of a bad deal in the hopes that somebody will get in next time that will give us a better deal. I would remind you that it’s usually the democrats that are being anti-canadian trade and the unions that push for that kind of stuff. There’s no reason to believe that a democrat administration would be any nicer about it if the deals are already in place. And no guarantee it won’t be JD Vance or somebody who wins the next election
We are losing this trade war. Final deal is as bad as they’re suggesting then carney will have failed utterly and completely in his promise to handle trump and trump will have won. We can only hope that is better than they’re making it out
Saturday update, sorry for the second reply, but given that Carney’s negotiating team walked away from the bad deal last night, I am interested to know what your thoughts are now!
The draft versions we have seen are “leaked” from US officials, which is why I’m taking the reports with giant crystals of salt. We see already what happened to the UK-US trade relationship, they were super cooperative with the Trump admin, and Trump keeps threatening to reneg on their deal again. So whatever is the final deal will hardly be worth the paper it is written on. The money the US government might even extract from the whole tariffing thing will likely be tied up in courts for many moons anyway, so this isn’t even a win for the US no matter which way you look at it.
Thoughts haven’t changed too much, If what we’re hearing is true (big if) Then at the last minute the Americans took what was a bad deal and made it absolutely horrible. And carney did the right thing and walked away. I think that’s what pretty much all of the premier’s work and the polls suggest you won’t suffer for it. In the end though it was the only real choice we had. We can’t give away our sovereignty
But the challenge now is going to be whether or not he has a plan to fight the war he just picked to fight the war he just picked. He should have been preparing for this for over a year knowing that it was always a possibility but he really didn’t do much to prepare us like curb spending or the like.
Trump is getting his ass kicked and I ran because he picked a war without realizing or thinking about how he was going to get a win and an exit. If we don’t have a plan the same thing will happen to us
I would hope he has a plan to put as much pressure on trump as possible. I would spend hundreds of millions if I were him in adverts similar to what Ontario did and her ass trump across America before the primaries. I would be very specific about which products I tariffed and I would probably focus on export tariffs. Things like energy and potash etc are going to hurt them the most and drive their inflation up which will embarrass the hell out of trump
If he just sits there and doesn’t do anything besides put a few tariffs in place we’re going to get slaughtered. The Americans can outwait us
““And the whole point of this is to change Canada’s behaviour,” Vance said. “Which they, you know, not entirely, but they’ve certainly shifted in a Trumpian direction.””
Well that doesn’t sound good
No we didn’t. Vance is a liar who is trying to sound tough and just sounds like a boot licker afraid to get kicked for failing again.
He’s trying to built up his fraud buddy Jamil Jirvani back in Canada. This sentient egg.

We don’t know the details of the deal yet but it certainly doesn’t sound like we won much.
We’re going to take some Ls. That doesn’t mean sentiment has shifted. I won’t glaze Carney, but thus far he does appear to actually be fighting, which is more than I can say for anyone CCP or UCP. We’re walking a tight rope right now though. Too aggressive and we end up like Cuba, if not like Iran. Their current leadership doesn’t care that the people won’t like it, or that they are already running low on several critical supply categories. We got comfortable and didn’t diversify the way we should have, taking the easy road to profit and not creating internal resilience. We do appear to be taking the right steps to rectify that but a nation of 50M people doesn’t turn on a dime.
He surely over exaggerated but Carney is is not doing a good job against Trump
Poilievre would have got his dick all the way down his throat.
It’s very hard to negotiate with a trading partner when the trade is so unbalanced. We can be all elbows out but we can also kill most of our economy to do that.
Trump is bad worked so well in the usa right ? and of course trump and Poilievre are bad It could be the same here in canada when people are too angry for trusting the current leader and getting backstabbed they lose rationality and would vote for the other no matter how the other side could be far far worse
Really? The man who’s idea of elbows up is handing over all our military data to an American AI company and paying for the privilege isn’t doing a good job?

He’s not great, but we don’t have a better alternative right now. Unless Avi Lewis manages to pull off a miracle, it’s Carney, or active Trump boot-lickers. If the Cons won we’d already be the 51st state.
Nightmare blunt rotation.
