          Convincing a portion of the public that one of their rights is too dangerous and it’s one they shouldn’t exercise seems to have done them a disservice. The 2A is for everyone as well as the rest of the Bill of Rights. It sucks that the current situation is what it had to take for people to realize that police and national guard aren’t going to protect them.

            2A isn’t going to stop them either. It’s a cult and a fascist dictatorship rolled together with a Supreme Court in their pockets. It’s not a problem that’s simple enough for guns to solve.

            They just killed an ICU nurse with his holstered and licensed firearm with zero repercussions and will do that to as many as needed, since the leadership isn’t in any current danger of consequences.

        This is such an annoying take because of how uninformed it is. The people obsessed with the second amendment and the “well-regulated miltia” are the same folks building the dumpster fire.

      Can’t they ID you through masks now anyway?

      My perspective is I resist openly. The more people do that the safer it is for everyone. But everyone should assess their own risk on an individual basis because it is not the same for all of us.

        The short answer is, the more of your face you cover, the harder it is to ID someone. If you wear a hat and a face mask, they will not be able to use facial recognition to identify you, to my knowledge.

        There is still stuff like gait analysis, but that’s also relatively hard unless they have a bunch of visuals of you walking. Which they may have. But wearing a mask does make it discernibly more difficult for them to ID you.

        That said, thank you for having the courage to resist openly. We do need it, and it does matter. I personally mask because of health reasons and generally trying to throw a wrench in the surveillance state (I hate being ad targeted, much less state targeted). But I get so much motivation out of seeing my fellow folks show up to resist in all the ways that they want to personally.

          Yeah, as a privileged, white male I don’t cover up my face. I’ll be a face for others or take that place. I’m statistically better off being targeted than a non-white person.

    Filming is the best thing that you can do. It’s the best weapon.

    Time and time again, they will spin the story and blame the victim. Every… Fucking… Time.

    When you record, and it’s so blatantly obvious of the crime they committed, they will still spin the story - but there is a chance that people who normally believe those stories will come to their senses.

    Sure - ICE could probably drop someone to their knees in the middle of a crowded store, execute the person with no struggle, and some folks will still blame the victim. However, there is also a chance that some might wake up.

    Film everything. Post everything.
