If people fight back, Trump & Co steam roll us with the military to quell “the violent left.” As people have remained relatively non-violent, the state keeps upping the ante in hopes that the people respond violently, which in turn “justifies” a violent course of action from the fed. Not right now we shouldn’t. Right now, we lose. A lot can be done with a combination of passive resistance, the courts, and (yes) electoral politics. Meanwhile, a cultural backlash against the right is building fast. The fascists really are racing the clock to consolidate power, and it doesn’t look like they are gaining ground fast enough.
I do think there’s something to this. The big problem is that a bunch of people are being hurt right now while we wait for things to work out. We’ve been forced to do this the hard and slow way due to decades of dismantling of working class power in America.
