Hmm who could have seen that kissing a regressive monarchy’s ass for far too long would bite us in the ass?

Anybody who realized how involved the Saudi Royal family and their intelligence agency was with 9/11 and anyone who understood how the Saudi’s were spreading the extremist breeding Wahhabism and funding the building Wahhabist schools.

The Saudis were always pieces of shit and horrible allies for the West.

We should have just helped the Shah stamp out the Islamic revolution instead and stuck with Iran as a regional Allie.

And now after saying that I have a dirty Henry Kissinger feeling.

Uh, no. Wtf. The Shah was an oppressive authoritarian. That’s one of the reasons why Iran is pissed at us. We should have let them nationalize their oil industry and not overthrown their democratically elected leader.

That’s geopolitics for you. You’re probably valuing human rights, and they were probably valuing cash, but the means are the same.

Thx for the fair words, but yeah geopolitics is a dirty game, as far as I’m concerned democracy and freedom of speech are worth fighting or dying for.
