Russian troops in civilian clothing have been sighted in Ukrainian occupied areas of the Kursk region amid the ongoing Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) incursion into southwestern Russia, local sources told Novaya Europe on Wednesday.

    “Russian military units were also spotted wearing civilian clothes in the Kursk region” I’m seeing a whole lot of statement here but not a whole lot of confirmation.

    Spotted wearing civilian clothes? What does that mean? Doesn’t that just imply they saw civilians?

    I guess I’m struggling to find the bit of info that explains how they knew these are Russian troops. ELI5?

      Confirmed by Wikipedia. No MBFC or AllSides rating, though their Wiki page lists numerous awards they’ve won. There are many articles about the Russian government shutting them down after the invasion. Here’s one from Reuters. Many of their journalists have been murdered by Putin’s regime. Anna Politkovskaya’s murder is maybe the most infamous.
