Umm what? The early Internet was a great place due to highly educated employed users? And the commoners ruined it? Did I miss the /s?

Really cool!
This is one of my favorite communities on Lemmy. Thank you!
Can you share the brand name?
Awesome!
Are there any Warhammer novels that exist and do you recommend any?
Postscript. A Google spokesperson told us that the quality rater work contracted with Appen will be moved to other suppliers and away from Appen.
I’m partial to Vanilla Coke, IBC Root Beer and Barq’s in a bottle. I had a bottle of Mystic River Root Beer years ago and it still is my favorite. Finally fresh sasparilla yum. Oh an Birch Beer of any kind. I don’t really drink soft drinks often, but those are my favs.
Any recommendations for root beer or birch beer? I’m on the US East Coast. Thanks!
Race is a social construct that impacts so many people in a very real way. The race that you’re sorted into affects so much of where you can go, what you can do, and how the government treats you.
Not a full launcher rec, but for a contextual calendar widget: Another Widget is pretty great.

Another +1 for AntenaPod. It’s fantastic.
The company gave the companies a large amount of equity. That was the work of Sam Altman. The employees are voting their wallet my sticking up for him.
I don’t think that’s fair. People can come here if they want. They can hate Reddit if they want. Let’s not demonize communities that decided to reopen is best for their community. It doesn’t need to be some judgement “Fuck everyone who didn’t come to here”.
I’m brand new here. I created logins at 3 instances. It’s not clear that you only need to log into one instance. Then communities are only discoverable if someone already linked to it on your instance. If I’m understood it right. All that to say-that’s a lot more friction to Signup and be scrolling entertaining content compared to Reddit. I’m trying to move mostly here, but there are some support communities on Reddit only. Finding new communities is definitely more complex than Reddit.
I’m here here for it, but let’s recognize there is a learning curve that will turn people off with limited time and mental bandwidth to pickup a new thing for fun.
First post on Lemmy. I hope that Lemmy and Mastodon can replace Reddit and Twitter. It feels hard to imagine right now, because finding communities and signing up is really confusing. I already gave up on Mastodon because it was too much of a hassle.
I’m a huge Boost fan.
