I realise I’m probably an out of touch boomer or something, but fucking hell. Paying that sort of money to borrow someone else’s car is absolute swivel-eyed lunacy to me.

Has it just been serviced? The dipstick in my Mazda is almost impossible to read accurately when the oil is brand new because it’s so clear.
I didn’t used to use it at all but I haven’t coded it out on my current car. The mild hybrid setup makes it way less intrusive because the car starts to move the moment I release the brake, there’s no delay like there was in my F31.
Same reason they swap lots of stuff – it’s cheaper and their research indicates not enough people will care for it to make any difference.
I don’t think I could catch a Golf R on a twisty B-road if the driver knew what they were doing. The extra weight outweighs (heh!) the extra power.
I would say not inherently a bad idea. I’m assuming you’re also from the UK? We’ve been kind of conditioned to think that cars are going to somehow explode at 100,000 miles but it’s not the case at all.
A 2019 is going to have the B47 engine rather than the N47 with the notorious timing chain issues. If it’s been serviced on schedule there should be no concern. The yanks may chip in here and go mental because they aren’t used to our service intervals and like to change the oil about every 20 minutes. They can safely be ignored.
To slightly contradict myself here, I will say that if it’s an auto you might consider factoring in repairs or servicing to the gearbox. BMW say it’s a ‘lifetime sealed’ item but ZF say it should be serviced every 60,000 miles. If it has never been serviced you may have problems. If it’s a manual obviously ignore that.
Otherwise, things like suspension components will be starting to go at that mileage. In my experience they are more expensive to replace than other makes, but it’s not horrendous.
If the car looks good, drives well and fairly priced I would consider it.
