My preference for track toys are vehicles that have something that diminishes value. Small accident, broken suspension, etc. Preferably something that I would already replace.

Only thing that really matters is having a solid engine and frame. Suspension and brakes upgrades will get you furthest for track fun and speed. So those are great to have to replace.

Let’s be honest they are cool, but a bit quirky. A luxury sedan or coupe with Italian flamboyance and screaming engines. It is really cool and unique, but who buys this? If you have that money and E or S class and a Ferrari make more sense. Also you need to be a certain type of person to pull it of. An stereotype accountant in a Maserati feels wrong. Hugh Hefner sounds like a better fit to me.
