My hardcore right wing neighbors have anti-elon stickers all over one of their Teslas, but are still the same. I think Fox has them fearful of “persecution”. They highlight every act of vandalism or protest like they’re some sort of oppressed minority so that makes them afraid to speak up, or they straight up know their viewpoints are shameful. Either way I think only the margins are changing as the truth never penetrates the core of the believers.

Likewise some emergency vehicles have made it difficult to get around an accident safely since you can’t see shit.

I run a simple calculation in my mind, a movie costs~15$ and lasts for a few hours. If a game i’m buying has a good chance of beating that ratio, i’ll buy it.

I’m no expert but it seems to me if the yields have to go up to get buyers, it’s like raising the interest rates on a loan. You can still get the loan but you have to buy less car/house if you want to afford the payments.

Came across this youtube video as well, which is interesting (perhaps once again gives too much credit to Trump, but also fleshes out some of his financial advisors and why they might be on board) I like that the author also gets into the economic history that leads what might be happening.

Once again though, i’m not really convinced. Seems like a huge risk and a gigantic bet on something that could easily break US hegemony permanently, and for what? The US is already on top of the economic pile with only minor threats to it’s position. A more direct path of investment in new technologies seems like a safer bet.

It’s funny how we used to have this trope of the mighty censorship bureau that has to rubberstamp everything (like they do for movies) but the reality is that the sycophants will trip over themselves to censor their neighbors in order to please those above. In Reddits case you have subreddit mods banning and censoring to please the reddit mods, who are trying to please reddit management, who are trying to please people like Musk, who are trying to please Trump. Trump doesn’t have to say anything, those low level Mods are doing all the censoring for him pro bono.
