Like others said an SUV is an SUV. Get the one that’s a better daily with more responsive low end torque.

i’ve had my gt3 for like 3 years and never seen the track. doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it on back roads. I prefer high rpm NA motors though. A turbo motor can’t match the throttle response.
Have owned both (e46 m3 and m2c). While the e46 is a true classic the f87 is better in most ways that matter to daily driving. It’s not like you can’t get another e46 again in the future either. A 100k mile e46 isn’t exactly a collector grade car. Life is too short to drive the same car forever. It’s fun to mix it up.
It’s going to be tough to unload that gt4. Porsche community doesn’t really go for heavily modded stuff like that. You’re going go have to find a buyer that has experience with the product.
You can pause the video at 0:26 and see that it says Laura Harris. That’s Chris Harris of top gear’s daughter and its actually her car too. I applaud you for reading this far because i have made it all up.
You’re kind of all over the place with what you’re shopping for. You will probably not be able to spec a 911 and get one in 6 to 12 months unless you pay adm to jump the list. Or someone backs out of their build and everyone ahead of you on the wait list passes on it.
if i tracked i would do what most owners do and swap to iron discs as its cheaper to run.
those people are just delusional. You can go round and round with that argument until it gets the point of ‘nobody needs anything more than a civic on the street’. I got ceramics on my gt3 because personally i think chalk with yellow calipers and seat belts looks better than chalk with red ones. the lack of brake dust is an added bonus
this is happening to everyone. if its not cylinder count its displacement. The F8 and SF90 have a smaller v8 that can’t rev has high as the 458.
yup not alone. they are just trying to cater to a different demographic now. people did criticize new models in the past. but it was never this bad. especially when nearly every reviewer has to say “well at least you don’t have to look at when you drive it”. sorry, but it doesn’t matter how great it drives … its ugly. i dont want to be seen in it.
It’s good for it’s primary purpose of being a daily driver. I would not want it when driving on fast. You wouldn’t know what the front wheels are doing or be able to correct a slide.
i agree its a bit of a gimmick. ‘oh this car is 5 seconds faster on a 7 minute lap!!’ Like dude thats 5 seconds out of 420 seconds of driving. literally a 1% improvement.
0-60 is also not as important as 5-60. theres a good article on it and shows how many cars achieve a great 0-60 due to launch control, awd, and turbos… but fall flat on the 5-60. most of this is because newer cars have downsized engines with big turbos , they lack low end instant power that a big motor would give
i enjoy having full control. all my previous dct cars (m2 comp, gtr, 458) i only drove around in manual mode. automatic transmissions cannot predict the road ahead, so if you get to a hill in 6th gear it waits for the engine to lug or feel stressed before it kicks down. with manual shifting you are in the right gear before that happens.
.
why did he remove the -40i part ??
Its the same car, kind of like M3 vs M4. Just get what you think looks better. M5 will probably hold value better and easier to sell since it has usable back seats.
Not sure where M5 prices are but the 2020 M8 has lost like 50% of its value.
Carrera GT for weekends / track
918 spyder to daily drive / track / road trips. its awd so snow tires should work for midwest winters.
wife can have a Turbo S, or Panamera if we change our minds about having kids.
600LT
i’d avoid the challenge cars since you dont have much track experience. you really have to throw your gut feeling out the window and trust the cars cornering ability which can be un nerving. the 600LT has a ton of straight line pull and will probably give you the most enjoyment. and you dont have to deal with mclaren depreciation or reliability, a big reason why people pick porsche over them
you’re fine. maybe dont flash the brights because there are idiots with guns out there. if i pass on the fight i will abruptly get back over the left lane (once its safe) to try and send them a message of “hey left lane is for passing buddy, doesn’t matter if you’re doing 80, move over”
Being a former 458 owner I’m eager to drive it at some point. It really seems like the car Ferrari should have built instead of the 488.
I did get bored of hitting paddles in my weekend car though. So I went to the gt3. Manual weekend car and dct for daily stuff was a better combo for me.
I think you can compare the GT cars to Ferrari. The other models not really.
The modern Ferraris are all turbo charged and automatic though. Gt3 is still manual, light weight, and NA.
But you are also comparing entry level Ferrari to top of the line porsche 911s. Like a top of the line civic type r is going to hold better value than an entry level bmw m240i at 50k.
