I have some comments/notes if you’re interested (if not no worries).
- You may want to get more granular on length of ownership. I just bought my Bolt to replace my previous vehicle and due to that all my answers on maintenance, fuel costs, etc. are very off. Additionally, someone with a large repair/maintenance bill in year 1 of ownership is different from year 2, 3, etc.
- You may want to inquire about model year and whether the person purchased used or new
- You may want to collect (basic) geographic information. Someone spending $50k on a car in Wyoming is different from $50k in California. For a similar reason you may want to ask about household income.
Fwiw, that was not my experience in buying a new Chevy Bolt. The sales guy was both a car guy and knew a ton about EVs, as did most of the rest of the staff I interacted with. The sales guy said the dealership is trying to position itself as a GM dealership that does a lot of EVs so they can build that reputation. They have two service technicians that are specialized in EVs and certified to do all potential battery repairs/replacements when a lot of dealerships struggle to just have one. When I picked up my Bolt the guy said they sold something like 7 of them between when I got my deposit down and when the car actually showed up. They also charge MSRP with no haggling which is wonderful.
If you’re willing to fly down to the DC area and take a trip, Ted Britt Chevrolet out in Manassas is the place I’m talking about. I think they might even have some used EVs for sale too in addition to new ones.
