anfla56@alien.topBtoToyota@gearhead.town•Dealer told me my brake pads were dangerously low. I bit, and bought new pads and rotors, and did them myself. This is “dangerously low?”English

1 year agoNever go to Midas! I went there with my Civic years ago, and when it it was in a Honda dealership months later they showed me damage to an o-ring on the brake assembly that they said was 100% caused by incompetence. They were so alarmed by it they took me back into the garage to show me. They said the only real affect would be moisture getting into the brakes which would lessen the mileage I’d get out of my pads - but still.
Don’t the service “advisors” get paid on comission, same as salespeople?
It’s a mixed bag. I’ve had some be honest and others wanted me to blow my bank on BS.
When my civic was getting up there (ten years old, 100k miles, etc) they really amped it up with the BS. I just did oil/filter changes at local garages instead, and got another 6 years out of it.
