My guess is that you’re “bi” because you kissed a dude in college and didn’t hate the concept. Now you just believe that you’re bisexual and get to involve yourself in the community when you don’t have a place in it.

Well I got a message for The Liar.

I am going through a Voyager rewatch at the moment and I hit the two parter where they go back to 1996. Was thinking about this a bunch. Here’s my headcanon.

The Temporal Police exists to make sure a the timeline is kept consistent. Any random deviations that occur are problems that must be corrected and they’re usually fixed with zero hesitation. However certain deviations are considered “legitimate” for a whole host of different reasons. Some are for paradoxical reasons like needing time travel to be created/used in order to make sure the Temporal Police are created. Others are okayed because the Temporal Police are the ‘victors’ that write history and get to choose the good things and leave behind the bad. Then there are countless other reasons.

When it came to Admiral Janeway, she fell under the two main categories I mentioned. The first is that her actions in using this time travel tech was integral to the creation of the Temporal Police. Could be something as simple as this being a case study in why such a police force was needed. In which case you couldn’t police it or wipe yourself out in a paradox. The other is that her actions greatly benefited the timeline. The Borg were an enormous threat and by going back in time and annihilating them, she made the timeline safer for all Temporal Agents.

tl;dr They couldn’t stop her because she timetraveled so hard she’s the reason the Police were even created

Similar sort of deal for me. My landlord is my roommate but she’s been here for ages and is also rent controlled. Gets it dirt cheap. Even with ODSP I’m still able to afford half the rent and be fine. Mostly because the rent, while being so cheap, also includes utilities (minus internet). I don’t want to leave this place.

I would totally be down for a Porthos focused series of animated shorts or something. I miss that adorable bastards. Captains need to have more pets.

Difference is that at Ripley’s i’m looking at Marine Life. At Hanlans i’m the marine life in the form of a beached whale. Everyone else pretty though.

It’s just so fucking bizarre. It feels like such an insane fever dream. Like the Star Trek version of the Willy Wonka scary tunnel.

Don’t forget Tuvok! He was an amazing straight man to the shenanigans of the Voyager crew. I’ve really been coming to appreciate him more on my current rewatch. I actually get some Tuvok vibes from T’Lyn, just maybe a little lighter and ‘carefree’ in comparison.

It really is surprising that it took 4 seasons. I wonder if their fear just came from worrying that they might come off too much like every other Trek show with having the ‘straight man’ type character so focal.

East-side although I’ve bounced around all over the GTA. There are some evil landlords out there who will take advantage of anyone anyway they can and I’m on ODSP so I don’t usually have the best choice of landlords. Current one is amazing though. I lucked out.

The Dyson Sphere gets explored a LOT in other media but TNG left it alone. Star Trek Online, a free to play MMO that was released in 2010, explores the Dyson Sphere a lot. There’s a whole series of missions and an arc based around it. The game can get obscenely complex in stats and builds but only if you want it to be. Otherwise it’s really easy to sit back and blast shit while hearing Trek actors. However the game is in ‘temporal flux’, shall we say. It’s both canon and non-canon. In Picard Season 3 we saw the Enterprise-F for the first time on screen but that ship was debuted in Star Trek Online years ago. Also it shows Harry Kim gets promoted to Captain so dope.

I mean it would but I’m just not great at accepting compliments, nevermind much else. Also I don’t drink anymore either. I also don’t get out much either for a whole bunch of reasons. Although when I do I usually do something stupid and go to Ripley’s Aquarium or down to fucking Hanlans. I’m an all or nothing idiot.

Just a collection of random thoughts I had while watching the episode.

• Captain Freeman saying she minored in something so she’s qualified is such a common Trek trope. I love seeing it backfire horribly. I mean it makes sense. Leave it to the professionals.

• The combadges have feedback. I fucking love it. The combadge tech has always driven me slightly insane in the inconsistency of how it works/should work so why not add another layer to it.

• “Everything that has ever occurred IS science stuff.” Stunning. Accurate yet also incredibly bitchy. So utterly fucking on brand for a Vulcan science officer.

• Anomaly Storage Room. That feels like such a monumentally terrible idea. Of course Starfleet would do it. I mean why not having a mini-Daystrom Station in every starship? I wonder if the Enterprise-D in the Fleet Museum just has a storage room with Moriarty inside of a memory cube.

• That fucking gift box. Gave me nightmares as a kid. I hate it. I need more.

• “Eat a bag of Borg dicks, motherfucker!” has been added to my lexicon.

• “There’s a 0.015 error in sensor readings so it must be fixed.” Makes sense. Starfleet has a fucking insane devotion to accuracy. I’m just wondering if the hazing or the accuracy came first. Like did everyone use accuracy has an excuse to haze people until Starfleet was known for having dummy accuracy, or was the accuracy devotion there first so officers used it as an excuse to haze people under them?

• T’lyn is amazing. The typical Vulcan response of passivity but curiosity is going to work perfectly throughout Lower Decks. Especially when she is sensible and amazing command material. I hope she stays in Starfleet. Moreover I hope that they actually show her changing just a little bit over the show and being molded by the crew. I love being able to watch an earlier episode and seeing the rigidity still there.

• “It sounds wet and that is what I like so please continue.”

• “They thoroughly describe your strength and shortcomings.” I love it when Vulcans are being backhanded, whether they mean it or not.

• Boims really can be a great officer when he doesn’t get in his own way.

• I genuinely don’t know what’s scarier. The Koala/mountain or Janeways Dad/Alien with the Matrix in Voyager.

• “GIVE ME 30CC’S OF WHATEVER JUST FUCKING WORKED A MINUTE AGO.” She would get along with Bones so fucking well.

Another slamdunk of an episode for me. Enjoyed every second and I have no real criticisms. Then again I often don’t unless they’re major. When it comes to Lower Decks it’s just too wonderfully silly/stupid for me to want to slow down the ride.
